Back in the 1800’s a lady gives birth to a monster. They decide that the baby is too ugly to name, therefore the monster is known as the “Unnamable”. The creature brutally slaughters his family, and gets trapped in a vault. Go ahead to 1988, and some college students have heard the story about the unnamable and want to check out the vault. The Unnamable was my introduction to HP Lovecraft, and began the failed search for a good Lovecraft movie. Alas, nothing more than B Movies have ever been done. There was talk that Guillermo del Toro was looking to make one, but nothing has been heard of it lately.
Make no mistake about it, this is an 80’s B movie.. the acting is pretty lackluster. The effects are mediocre for the time. But, I have to say that the creature is looking pretty sweet. Probably where all the budget went into.
