Spirited Away

Truly a masterpiece of Japanese Animation. Don’t take my word for it, Spirited Away was the first recipient of an Academy Award for Animated Feature. And it deserved the recognition.

The animation is wonderful and imaginative, they didn’t dumb down the story for the american audience (with the exception of a line, explaining that Haku was a Dragon, because Asian dragons look so different than what we’re used to seeing). It’s not over explained, and honestly great for all ages.

The artwork is just stunning. A beautiful feature with scenes that would make anyone long for a picnic in the Japanese countryside.. as long as you get back by sundown.
