Insidious Chapter 3

BumpMapFrame

A prequel set before the haunting of the Lambert family that reveals how gifted psychic Elise Rainier reluctantly agrees to use her ability to contact the dead in order to help a teenage girl who has been targeted by a dangerous supernatural entity.

I’ll be honest, right off the cuff. I dislike Insidious.. 1, 2 or 3.. I don’t find any of this franchise entertaining in the least. In fact, I actually caught myself dozing off in the middle of it. This is a very mediocre story with little character development, tired story points and “scares” (you’ll notice the quotes there) that would race the hearts of only the most novice of horror movie fans.

Mostly, I really dislike the vision of the spiritual plane.. which they call “The Further” (sigh) – it completely lacks imagination.. it’s the same apartment building.. just with more fog. And ghosts of people, standing in the doorways.. sure, that’s how it looks. Hell, in the first Insidious.. it was.. NOTHING.. just blackness. There’s imagination for ya.

I can’t, in good conscience, recommend this movie to any of my friends.
