A group of 12 year old girls face a night of horror when the compulsive addiction of an online social media game turns a moment of cyber bullying into a night of insanity.
Yes, a social media and cyber bullying movie with no Internet. Wait, what?
That’s right.. toward the beginning of the movie, all these young girls decide to lock their phones away in a safe, leaving them with no communication, no social media, and no internet access… that makes perfect sense.
So, have you ever wanted to see a movie that was made entirely of social commentary, vapid images, and no actual content? Well, I’m pretty sure that’s what I just watched. More so, I don’t think writer/director Tara Subkoff has ever been on social media in her life. Everybody in this movie is completely self absorbed, and out of their minds. The girls are playful one moment, then turn on a dime to bullying eachother.
The basic premise of #Horror is good. Most of the imagery is good.. even the kids acting isnt bad. What we really needed here, is someone who can write a decent screenplay. And maybe have cut screens that don’t look like Candy Crush threw up all over the screen.
