Airplane!

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit doing movie reviews..

Silly, irreverent and Don’t call him Shirley. Airplane is one of the funniest spoofs of all time. A parody of the 1957 film, “Zero Hour!”, we see a handful of no-nonsense actors in their first comedy roles, which is one of the things that really made this movie outrageous to most audiences. Until now, Leslie Neilson was better known for his serious, straight laced roles. After Airplane, he saw a resurgence in his acting career, this time in Comedy.

On the ground, the running gags of McCroskey (played by Lloyd Bridges) had him always regretting this was the week he finally got his act together.. having given up

  1. Smoking
  2. Drinking
  3. Amphetamines
  4. and Sniffing Glue

And let’s not forget good old Johnny (Stephen Stucker), who’s entire script was improvised.

As funny as this movie is, there is brief nudity (one set of naked breasts) so keep that in mind when letting the kids see.
