Some Kind of Hate

A bullied teenager is sent to a reform school where he accidentally summons the spirit of a girl, herself a victim of bullying, who takes vengeance on his tormentors.

First, I’ll start off with two statements.

  1. I was a bullied fat kid. That went on until I fought back and the other boy ended up with a broken collar bone. The reaction was, I had other bullies coming up to me saying “You think you’re tough for sending (name) to the hospital?” I would respond with “after school.. you’re next”. Never got bothered after that.
  2. I despise the very idea of “Boot Camps” for kids. It’s savage, demoralizing, and kids actually DIE in them. Any parent who allows strangers to take their kids out of bed at 4am and take them into the middle of the desert, deserves to loose their parental rights.. and if the kid dies.. THEY are at fault.

Now.. on with the review.

This movie was very slow to start. I actually wondered if I had misread the movie info, labeling it a horror.. Then it started to pick up. And Moira, a vengeful spirit, shows up to help our protagonist.. whether he likes it or not.

This is an Emo kids wet dream. A vengeful ghost comes to help kill all the people who bully him? I know a lot of people who would love that.. but, things go from bad to worse when Moira won’t stop killing and Lincoln must take matters into his own hands.

So, the movie wasn’t bad, but more of a drama/horror than a straight up horror. And I wouldnt show this to any Emo’s, or they might get some bad ideas.
