Sam Brenner, Will Cooper, Ludlow Lamonsoff, and Eddie “The Fire Blaster” Plant all played classic arcade video games as teenagers. But now they have to use their skills to try to save the world from aliens. The aliens watched video feeds that they thought was a declaration of war. So they send down the classic arcade games to destroy earth. They also get help from a military specialist. They have three lives and if all three get used then earth will be destroyed, and every time they lose a live the aliens take someone’s life. Who will win, us or the aliens? It’s an all-out battle to save our planet and everyone on it.
I hate Adam Sandler. He’s not funny. That being said, I actually forced myself to see Pixels.
Hey, are you tired of going to the movies to see your favorite video game adapted to the big screen, only to be crushed to find that it sucked? Hey, don’t worry.. “Pixels” brings ALL of your old favorites to the movies, and takes a gigantic dump on all of them, at the same time, to save you money and time! That was quite considerate of them.
OK, honestly, it wasn’t that bad. Great? No. Not by a long shot. But it was watchable for a good 106 minutes of mindless time killing. I kept my mouth shut for the most part, until the introduction of MY game.. Qbert*. They made my little, pixelated, jumping bean into a sniveling sidekick who pisses himself – AND has the wrong voice! In “Pixels” they give Qbert the voice of a scared cartoon kid.. when the game version sounds like this..

I did not approve. And I didn’t even get into the fact that this is a movie based on an episode of Futurama! And not a good episode either!
Yeah. So.. OK for kids, I suppose, but if you don’t want to see the classic arcade games, you grew up with, get wrecked. Skip it.
