A mysterious virus hits an isolated elementary school, transforming the kids into a feral swarm of mass savages. An unlikely hero must lead a motley band of teachers in the fight of their lives.
This is a fun movie. And, I’d be willing to bet that everyone involved had a great time making it. Though the horrific scenes which play out are worthy of any Horror collection, you get a sense that a lot of the people who die, kinda deserve it. Not that they’re evil people.. but some of the most annoying stereotypes of suburban, over protective, child-medicating, “My kid can do no wrong”, parents. Fuck’m! Yeah, a few of the kids needed to go too.. our primary antagonist, “Patriot” (so named because he was born on 9/11), was a total dick, bastard.
There are nods to a few other movies throughout.. Elijah Wood is called a “Hobbit”. The scene where a girl rides into a room on a tricycle appears to be a reference to the character, Billy, from the Saw franchise, also written by Leigh Whannell.
I really found this movie to be entertaining, and I would recommended it!
