A Christmas Horror Story

BumpMapFrame
Interwoven stories that take place on Christmas Eve, as told by one festive radio host: A family brings home more than a Christmas tree, a student documentary becomes a living nightmare, a Christmas spirit terrorizes, Santa slays evil.

I pride myself on being a traditionalist, when it comes to Christmas. My tree ornaments are silver, gold and red. My garland is shinny, and I watch traditional Christmas movies. When I heard of “A Christmas Horror Story”, and how a great deal of people enjoyed it more than the “Krampus” movie.. I was intrigued. And now, after viewing this movie, I can honestly say..

I LIKED IT!

This is an anthology of four short films, gift wrapped within a single Christmas Eve. To my knowledge, they are not officially titled.. so, I’ll make up my own.

  1. Santa’s Slay
    • Jolly old Saint Nick must defend the North Pole against evil, as his team of Elves is overrun by a plague of Zombism
  2. Krampus
    • A family shows their greed, and pays the price as they are hunted down by a mythical Christmas demon
  3. Unto you a child is born
    • Inspired, teenage, film makers sneak into a school on the anniversary of an unsolved double murder, to find something waiting for them in the basement.
  4. The Changeling
    • A family trespasses into ancient woods in search of the perfect Christmas Tree.. only to bring home more than they bargained for.

Tying the films together is an underlying story which unfolds live on the air, as D.J. “Dangerous Dan” tries to keep the Christmas Spirit while reporting on dark doings at the local mall. No, this wasn’t a perfect movie, but entertaining nonetheless, And I would recommend it for viewing this Christmas season.
