Jessabelle

BumpMapFrame

Returning home to recuperate after an accident that left her without the use of her legs, Jessabelle finds her self being haunted by the shadows of the past. Her drunken father, a series of video tapes from her mother, and a mysterious presence in the swamps..

My thoughts? I liked it. The story kept me interested, the acting was good, the physical effects were believable. I would definitely recommend for my friends.

That being said, there were a few things that bothered me (really?…yes) (spoilers)

  1. You’re supposed to be in physical therapy, and have “just 2 weeks until you can climb the stairs” – yet you take absolutely no steps in this movie, at all. If you were that far along, you would be weak, yes.. but not completely reliant on that wheelchair.
  2. The sheriff calls and says that the DNA tests show that the baby was black.. DNA can’t show race.
  3. The ending.. was weak. Without giving it away, i’ll just say.. it could have been done better.

Also, it’s been a while since I’ve seen a good old Voodoo plot line. Well done 🙂
