Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

It’s Harry’s third year at Hogwarts; not only does he have a new “Defense Against the Dark Arts” teacher, but there is also trouble brewing. Convicted murderer Sirius Black has escaped the Wizards’ Prison and is coming after Harry (Source: IMDB)

I’ve never read the books, but really enjoyed this franchise. It really is a great family movie experience, filled with magic and wonderment. The best thing I found is that the story matures with the character, becoming darker and more serious with each installment.

However, this magical world is not without flaws.

  • In this installment of the franchise we meet Professor Lupine, err.. that is Lupin.
    • Yeah.. if you didn’t guess he was a werewolf within 2 minutes of hearing his name..  you need help.
  • We are also introduced to a slew of completely inaccurate mythical creatures. Among them are:
    • A Boggart is not a shape-shifter that takes on your darkest fear.
      • Boggart is a generic term for a mischievous Fey (fairie, fae-folk)
    • “Animagus” seems to be completely made up for the flim.
      • It is actually called “Therianthropy”, or an animal shapeshifting specialization.
