Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Rescued from the outrageous neglect of his aunt and uncle, a young boy with a great destiny proves his worth while attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. (Source: IMDB)

I’ve never read the books, but really enjoyed this franchise. It really is a great family movie experience, filled with magic and wonderment. The best thing I found is that the story matures with the character, becoming darker and more serious with each installment.

However, this magical world is not without flaws.

  • The naming of spells is “Riddikulus” at best. Sounding more like a blending of Latin and Pig-Latin
    • And why must they say the names of spells, anyways? Are there no mute wizards? What if someone is tied up and gagged?
  • In this story, Hermione (Played by Emma Watson) states that Harry (Played by Daniel Radcliffe) “Really is a great wizard” – when in fact, during the entire course of this film.. he’s done nothing to earn that praise. Hell, at this point, Ron Weasley (Played by Rupert Grint) has done more praise-worthy acts of wizardry.
