Based upon the acclaimed comic book and directed by Matthew Vaughn, Kingsman: The Secret Service tells the story of a super-secret spy organization that recruits an unrefined but promising street kid into the agency’s ultra-competitive training program just as a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius (Source: IMDB)
Alright.. I didn’t think I was going to like this movie. The premise of taking a rude kid off the streets and turning him into a secret service agent? It’s preposterous. The trailers I saw made the movie out to be pretty bad, just the image of Samuel L Jackson with a baseball cap turned cockeyed put me off. But, I was pleasantly surprised.
What the trailer doesn’t show you, is that the kid off the street, has military training. So, my impression that he had no business being in his position, was misguided.
The concept of using prosthetic “Running Blades” into.. weapons, was brilliant, and the actress (and stunt actress, I would assume) did a great job in the choreographed fight scenes. Well done!
All and all, a good movie.. the only issue I had was with the explosions being synchronized.. that was the only real flaw I could find.
