A woman named Grace retires with her two children to a mansion on Jersey, towards the end of the Second World War, where she’s waiting for her husband to come back from battle. The children have a disease which means they cannot be touched by direct sunlight without being hurt in some way. Their arrival will accidentally begin to break the rules with unexpected consequences.(Source: IMDB)
This is a top shelf ghost story. Wonderfully done, great cast. Mystery, suspense, and a twist ending that will blow you away. The dark and silent setting of this film adds to the unrest, and it is so refreshing to find a horror movie that doesn’t rely on jump scares and heavy CGI. In fact, I believe there was only one shot that required animation. I wish I could say more, but it would spoil the ending.. and trust me, you don’t want me to do that, this time.
Turn off the lights and curl up with a bowl of popcorn.. This is a must see!
