I was excited as my game began to load up, I was not fully in the game yet but I could hear my guild mates chatting away.
Oh how cool!
It was a thrill to enter into game and hear people you spend time with each day of the week, not just type out a greeting of “hello” but to actually hear them. It does have a few draw backs, that being hearing the voice of that lovely little fae girl in a baritone, ever though everyone knows its a guy playing her. That part is just takes a bit of getting used to.
As the evening wore on, the chatter died down. It became more of the tool that it should be rather than a novelty. People drifted off to other channels and groups, as they went off adventuring. Which is something I also did.
It was while I was out adventuring that I got another big shock, it seemed that the players were not the only ones using the wondrous new voice chat
It seemed that the mobs had their own channel!!
It seemed every where I went there was at least one mob who had teamed up with other mobs in some hidden mob channel.
Ok fine I could see the mobs talking to each other but ….I don;’t think I will ever be able to harvest again with out wondering….
Ya that was a bit disturbing. A Node channel? the nodes are talking to each other? Wait till I tell Den Mom!!
It also seems that ….well ….normal usable objects also are banding together on the chat channels.
I think the final straw to this extra use of OUR chat channels is when I needed a ride and found the cloud busy on the ride channel
So let this be a warning to you all out there, the voice chat is great for us players but….we are not the only ones out there using it. You will never know now which mob, node or object is talking to there buddies about YOU.
