Last night, Elquin and I went to see “Rite here, Rite Now” the theatrical event by the band “Ghost”. We were not dissapointed!
In basics, this was a concert filmed in Los Angeles, CA. But with a twist. The event follows Ghost frontman, Papa Emeritus IV throughout. When he’s on stage, we’re on stage.. when he goes backstage, we follow him backstage. The backstage footage is a series of skits where he interacts with various characters from the extensive lore of the band, and not actual backstage footage.
As we’ve come to expect from Ghost, there is weird and dark humor throughout; (I call Ghost “The Goofballs of Metal”) and it made for a fun time. I wont go into spoilers here, but it was definitely worth the price of admission, and I feel they left the audience both satisfied, and wanting more.
To be continued? Yes.. the story continues for Ghost. There IS an after credit scene that sets up the next chapter!
We will be getting the Bluray when it’s available, that’s certain.
The only thing I honestly was disapointed by was that, during a 5 minute intro, we were instructed to take out our phones and scan a QR-code to post a selfie to show that we were at the event, the band would share on their official social platforms. For some reason, it didn’t work for me and we missed out.
