Well, “Rise of Skywalker” came out on Disney Plus.. so with most streaming entities, I didn’t feel like I actually paid to see it.. which is good, because had I paid for this in a theater, I would have demanded a refund, and for all copies of this abomination to be burned at the stake. I don’t normally curse in my posts.. but Holy Shitballs.. what the hell did I just watch?
I’m sure you’ve heard it all. Hell, I heard it all, from multiple sources: reviews, videos, print, world of mouth.. you name it. I just had to see it for myself.
This is not the worst movie I’ve ever seen, not by a long shot. And if you had no knowledge of Star Wars before watching this, you may have enjoyed it. But, JarJar Abrams just took a gigantic bucket of shark chum and threw it all over the Star Wars franchise as his parting gift. Fuck you JJ, just fuck you.
Everything about the “skywalker trilogy” has been convoluted and stripped down to nothing but “hey, isn’t Rey the greatest?” No. No she’s not. She’s a forced hero. The “baby face” we didn’t want. You should ask Vince McMahon (wwe) about that.. Rey is the Roman Reins of Star Wars. No one asked for her, she never worked out with the audience. Yet you kept pushing her. Skills and abilities that contradict canon, all new skills that sure as hell would have been useful in previous films.. but didn’t exist, because they were made for Rey. Just.. just, fuck you JJ.
Is this the last Star Wars installment? God I hope so.
