A boy named Harley and his family (brother Austin, mother Beth, and step-father Mitch) attends a taping of The Banana Splits TV show, which is supposed to be a fun-filled birthday for young Harley and business as usual for Rebecca, the producer of the series. But things take an unexpected turn — and the body count quickly rises. Can Harley, his mom and their new pals safely escape?
Remember being a kid, going to a place like Chuck-E-Cheese, and being a little weirded out by the animatronic characters? Me too… So, what happens if those characters came to life and started killing people? Welcome to this dark horror loosely based on the Banana Splits, a children’s TV show from the early 1970’s.
If you’re a gamer and you think to yourself.. Hey.. this sounds an awful lot like the plot to “Five Nights at Freddy’s” – you would not be wrong. This was originally supposed to be a movie based on that game. I’m not sure how it wound up taking this twist, but it kinda works in a weird way.
Filled with excessive gore and scares, … although the cast is mostly children… this is definitely not for children.
I didn’t hate it, in my own weird way, I think it was fun.
