Rings

Julia becomes worried about her boyfriend, Holt, when he explores the dark urban legend of a mysterious video said to kill the watcher seven days after viewing. She sacrifices herself to save her boyfriend and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: there is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before.

First, I’ll say that I went into this with low expectations. The funny thing is.. Rings was actually not bad. And, that makes me happy. Although we diverge a little from the lore of the previous movies, it all kinda wraps up nicely in the end. But, was it worth seeing in the theater? Yes, if you’re a fan of the franchise. If you’re a casual observer, I’d say… there’s not a lot out there that I wanted to see anyways. So, why not.

The acting, story, direction, imagery.. all seemed pretty good to me. Not an instant classic, but a good follow through to Samara’s story.

No spoilers on this one, because it’s still fresh in the theaters and I want the Ring fans to go and see it for themselves.

I’ll end by saying that I’ll be adding this to my collection.
