After the loss of their parents in a mysterious fire, the three Baudelaire children face trials and tribulations attempting to uncover dark family secrets.
I have never, in my memory, watched a series that actively, repetitively, and purposely, begged its audience to not watch it.
I admit that I was skeptical about this one, and that skepticism was due to Neil Patrick Harris.. would he be able to pull off the role of the sinister Count Olaf? Well the answer is.. a resounding “Yes”.
A Series of Unfortunate Events, both the new Netflix Series and the 2004 movie starring Jim Carrey, I thought were both good. In fact, I they were both so similar in design, direction and even the appearance of the primary cast, that, at times, I was wondering if I was watching the right performance.
However, with out the constraint of a feature-length run time, we were able to get, what i’m being told is, a more accurate and true representation of the story from the books, instead of a more condensed version. And I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed binge watching season 1 on Netflix.
Now, I know that there are 13 books in the original story.. so I have to wonder what else in in store for the Baudelaire children, because I want to see more!
