In a world where Christopher Lee, Bela Lagosi and Vincent Price ruled the fantasy realm of Vampire Lore, the youth of the 80’s needed a new revision, an updated, modern, vampire story. It was a different time and the Vampire was growing stale. Then came.. The Lost Boys.
This story single-handedly revived and ushered in the new age of Vampire movies.
When I look back upon my youth, there are a few movies that made huge impacts on me: Ghostbusters, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and The Lost Boys. Perhaps no other film influenced by adolescence like Joel Schumacher’s “Lost Boys”. My friends and I were obsessed with the pure 80’s vamp-god “David” (played by Keifer Sutherland).
No sparkling, no sappy romance, David and his Lost Boys where here to rip throat out and taunt you the entire time.
Definitely on my “Must See” list. If you don’t own a copy… You’re wrong.
