The Muppet Christmas Carol

BumpMapFrame

Without a doubt, my favorite movie incarnation of the classic Dickens tale. Michael Cain’s portrayal of Ebeneezer Scrooge is a harsh and sharp contrast to the whimsical performance by Jim Henson’s Muppets. Though, not a strict interpretation of the novel, The Muppet’s Christmas Carol brings heart and spirit to the tradition.. leaving us with laughter and a tears.

Absent from the U.S. Theatrical release, is the scene “When Love is Gone”, which takes place during the visit of the Ghost of Christmas Past. This touching scene depicts the break up of young Scrooge and his fiance, Bell. This scene is available if you choose the UK version of the movie, from the Blue-ray menu. However, the UK Version is in a “pan and scan” format.
